    Abstract/Description

Climate-Smart Villages (CSV) assess and promote climate-smart options (agricultural practices and technologies and access to climate information services) that affect farmers who have at least two of the following goals: increase and stabilize their productivity/income and food security; improve its adaptive capacity against the negative impacts of climate change and variability, and reduce greenhouse gas emissions associated with agricultural practices. This illustrative note shows some results of the CSA Options Monitoring exercise at Olopa CSV (Guatemala), documented through descriptive and main indicators that seek to address the following research questions: How much are the CSA practices promoted in the territory being implemented and what motivates its implementation? What are the effects (perceived by farmers) of practices on: food security, livelihood and climate vulnerability? To what extent is the implementation of the practices influencing gender approach?
