| dcterms.abstract | This paper describes the Madura Groundwater Irrigation Project training program for tubewell operators and officers of the water users' associations. Background information on the overall project is given and the water management program is described. The majority of the paper examines in detail the training program that was designed and implemented to prepare the officials of the water users' associations to operate effectively and maintain the tubewells constructed in the system. A companion paper by Martin Burton (86/1d) describes a similar program to train irrigation staff in the East Java Irrigation Service. | en_US |
