    Notes
CTA's Director, Mr. Assoumou Mba, has been awarded CEFA's 'Gold Minerbio' which recognizes outstanding individual or institutional contributions in the field of international agricultural cooperation. The European Centre for Agricultural Training (CEFA) cited Mr. Assoumou Mba's wide-ranging experience and perspective that, in a relatively short period of time, has made a remarkable contribution to the efficiency and initiative of CTA. In making this annual award at a ceremony on June 21, 1987 in Bologna, Italy, the Selection Committee noted that the idea of establishing an organization like the CTA was discussed at a CEFA workshop held in Minerbio, Italy, in October 1975, just a few months after the signing of Lome 1. Mr. Assoumou Mba, a tropical agronomist and former Director of Agriculture in Cameroon, has directed CTA since its creation in 1983.
