La patate douce - Actes du premier Symposium International
A French translation of the proceedings of the first International Symposium on Sweet Potato has just been published with the financial assistance of CTA La patate douce - Actes du premier Symposium International is a comprehensive review of this crop which has historically played an important role as a subsistence food in a number of ACP countries. Not only are the roots rich in nutrients and in vitamin A, the tender shoots serve as an important source of vegetable fibre and food. In fact, sweet potato is one of the world's highest yielding crops with total food production per unit area exceeding that of rice and with a higher food value The Symposium was held at the Asian Vegetable Research and Development Centre in 1982 and this French translation of the proceedings will be a useful text and reference for francophone readers. It is available (in French only) from CTA.
