Abstract/Description
Partners in Research for Development
Notes
A new publication launched in April 1988 aims to describe and explain research results and technologies from the Australian Centre for International Agricultural Research (ACIAR) to a wider readership both in Australia and developing countries.
After five years of commissioning agricultural research for the Third World, ACIAR felt the need for a way to communicate the fruits of its activities than newsletters or annual reports, and so 'Partners in Research for Development' was born. Articles in the first issue include both results of ACIAR-sponsored research (a new vaccine for Newcastle disease and control of the water weed salvinia), and details of ACIAR activities in developing countries (coconuts; and sustainable agricultural practices for marginal lands).
