Handpumps Testing and Development' is a series of World Bank Technical Papers reporting on the UNDP/World Bank project for laboratory and field testing and the technological development of handpumps for community water supplies. It is aimed at promoting the use of suitable handpumps for groundwater extraction to meet e needs of the International Drinking Water Supply and Sanitation Decade. Consideration has been given to their durability, capital as well as maintenance costs, suitability for village-level maintenance and prospects for local manufacture.
