Rice Biotechnolosgy Quarterly' was first published in January 1990
Rice Biotechnolosgy Quarterly' was first published in January 1990. It arose from a need identified at a workshop sponsored by the Rockefeller Foundation for a publication which would report speedily on biotechnological research applied to solving the problems associated with improving the rice plant. Topics which may be covered in future issues will include gene expression, RFLP mapping protoplasts, transformation, cloning, in situ hybridization, stress, new techniques, viral diseases, somaclonal variations, molecular-cytogenic stud)', gene sequencing chloroplast and mitochondria research, tissue culture and recent advances in instrumentation and methodology.
