Notes
The world's largest abstracting and indexing service for life sciences, BIOSIS, has made available a free video which highlights the capabilities of the BlOSIS-sponsored Life science network.
The Life science network is a database network devoted exclusively to the information needs of scientists, and provides online access to 85 life science and related databases.
The six-and-a-half minute video demonstrates how the network can help scientists simplify their literature searches by using the following convenient features:
- A cost-efficient 'scan' option, which helps researchers locate databases containing relevant information
- An easy-to-use menu system that eliminates the need to know complicated search commands and database names
- Extensive search assistance, including the 'SOS' feature, which lets users 'talk' with an experienced search specialist while connected to the system
- A simple, straightforward pricing structure, including a free Password and User ID.
