Useful publications The Journal of applied science in Southern Africa (JASSA) is a new bi-annual publication produced by the University of Zimbabwe. JASSA carries articles on applied research that is important to, and deals with, matters specific to Southern Africa. The first issue contains a variety of papers on diverse subjects, with agriculture being the most prominent. Other papers reflect the significance of other subjects, such as geophysics, in the region. The subscription for two issues is Z$60 for individuals in Zimbabwe, Z$70 for institutions in Zimbabwe, US$40 for the rest of Africa, and US$50 for the rest of the world. It aims to be a medium that will serve to foster links among cocoa breeders, geneticists and research institutes.
