training workshop on writing and producing agricultural extension materials. The workshop was held in Zimbabwe from 3-15 March 1997
Dealizing the difficulty of producing effective agricultural extension material from agricultural research results, CTA has organized a training workshop on writing and producing agricultural extension materials. The workshop was held in Zimbabwe from 3-15 March 1997 in collaboration with WARDA and AGRITEX. The main objective of the workshop was to strengthen the communication of agricultural research results in Africa. The workshop was attended by 18 senior personnel involved in the production and distribution of extension materials in national agricultural extension systems from 12 SADC countries. The participants carried out a detailed farmers' needs assessment and developed their own extension materials. The materials were tested with the farmers who had been involved in the diagnostic surveys and then revised in the light of experience.
