Courses and conferences Impact assessment for development policy and project appraisal 1 June-10 July 1998 This course concentrates on the assessment of four major types of impact commonly associated with development policies and projects: environmental, health, social and gender. The course has two key objectives: to provide participants with a practical understanding of the latest concepts and procedures for the assessment of environmental, health, social and gender impacts of development policies and projects; and to provide an understanding of how the results of impact assessment studies can be integrated into policy design, project appraisal and decision-making procedures.
