Trading conditions in the European market are changing rapidly and exporters from developing countries need to keep themselves informed of market opportunities and new legislation. The introduction of the Single European Market, the present Uruguay round of the GATT multilateral trade negotiations and political and economic change in the countries of Eastern Europe could have a major impact. It is for this reason that the Dutch Centre for Promotion of Imports from Developing Countries (CBI) has published a series of reports and market surveys, These provide a readable account of the situation at the date of publication together with some statistical data on quantities and types of produce Imported. Although the surveys refer specifically to the situation as it relates to the Netherlands, much of the information is relevant to the EC as a whole and market opportunities and trends for each of the major EC countries are included. Product reports include: fresh tropical fruit and vegetables coffee and honey. Market surveys include: essential oils and oleoresins; coffee and tea, rice dried fruits and edible nuts natural food colours and flavours; and health foods.
