The Foundation is Interested in all environmental problems but directs its attention to a number of special projects: for example the Ecological and Economic Significance of Birds Project which looks at ways of promoting ecologically sound methods of preventing damage caused by birds and means of obtaining a better insight into the ecological and economic significance of birds. The Agribusiness and Ecology (AGRECOL) project aims to screen and restrict agro-inputs and the export to developing countries of substances banned or restricted in western countries. The project encourages promotion of sustainable and ecologically sound, economic and socially acceptable agricultural methods throughout the Third World with particular emphasis on low-input sustainable agriculture. The family cooker and medical cooker project aims to raise consciousness in western countries about the energy problems of the Third World poor; within Third World countries it promotes the use of fuel-saving stoves.
