    Abstract/Description
    This introductory remark highlights the improvement of crop-animal systems in rainfed areas and lists the globalizaiton strategy. Progress in globalization in South Asia, South East Asia, West Asia and North Africa, and Latin America and the Caribbean is outlined. The objectives of the meeting are also summarised.
