Between March 22 and 27th 2002 approval for a further eight Leader + rural development programmes was announced to the total value of Euro 269.4 million. Over 50% of the funds made available came from the EU budget for rural development, around 22% came from private sector sources whilst the remainder came from local or national authorities in the member state concerned.
