Abstract/Description
This paper describes the agricultural situation in Maramche. Village learners have been participating with Ihe Local initiatives for Biodiversity Research and Development (LI-SIRD), testing improved varieties of paddy rice. Details of the qualities of the new varieties. Qualities preferred by Ihe farmers, and experiences with the participatory plant-breeding program are included.
