Abstract

The minutes record discussions on new proposals by the CG Secretariat on the balancing facility and a CGIAR strategy. A discussion on overheads is also recorded and the CDC agrees to seek assistance from the Finance Committee to establish harmonious policies on overheads that also reflect the views of donors. Reports of subcommittees reflect new terms of reference for PARC and CDC financial support to the PAA, Plant Genetic Resources and the negotiations with FAO, CSE and the number of different initiatives undertaken including a position paper on Soil, Water and Nutrient Management Research, Sub-Saharan Africa and discussions with NARS Directors. Under special topics the CDC is a presentation from CABI for collaboration with the centers, a presentation on improving the efficiency and effectiveness of CG training, a paper by ISNAR on the devolution of training and a presentation by the CGIAR Gender program on progress.
