First Meeting of the Science Council, May 12-15, 2004, Aleppo, Syria : Summary Record of Proceedings

Abstract

Summary record of the inaugural meeting of the CGIAR Science Council, held at ICARDA, 12-15 May, 2004, Per Pinstrup-Andersen Science Council Chair presiding. On the agenda: IRRI's sixth EPMR, the biosafety study report, system priorities, the report for the Standing Panel on Priorities and Strategies, the report from the Standing Panel on Impact Assessment (SPIA), the report from the Standing Panel on Monitoring and Evaluation (SPME) and the report from the Standing Panel on Mobilizing Science (SPMS). Also discussed were the communication strategy, the performance measurement working group report and an update on the Sub-Saharan Africa Task Force. This report also contains a summary of the closed session, the list of participants and the list of documents discussed at the meeting. This report was discussed at the CGIAR Business Meeting at AGM 2004.
