    Abstract/Description
This document sets out measures to respond to the Secretary General’s call for concertedaction to reduce hunger in Africa and throughout the world. It differs from other globalinitiatives mainly in its response to the Millennium Development Goals, its interdependencywith the recommendations of the nine other task forces addressing the other millenniumdevelopment goals, and the more business plan approach, going beyond what should bedone. It seeks to identify the priority actions needed now that will lead to short- and mediumterm effects and will establish the base for the eventual total elimination of hunger. The interventions recommended in this document are based on science-based approaches, policies and technologies that exist, are proven, are understood and are effective. This report was discussed at the Stakeholders meeting at AGM2004.
