CGIAR news release describing a project managed by ICRISAT, ILCA, and three Ethiopian institutes aimed at improving the productivity of Ethiopia's highland black vertisol soils through the use of an animal-drawn land-shaping implement called the 'broadbed maker.' Demand for the broadbed maker by small scale farmers, and impact of the tool on groundcover and soil quality when used in combination with fertilizer and improved crop varieties.
