PRM is a community owned and participatory process where learning takes place through implementation at the community level It is a process of planning and management of rangelands led by communities, and can be supported by government, development actors and/or rangeland experts. PRM consists of three interconnected stages – Understanding, Planning and Implementation. Through participatory processes that involve all major stakeholders, a community defines an appropriate rangeland management unit and conducts an inventory to document rangeland resources found within the unit and their status.
