CGIAR Center Directors Committee Minutes, Presiding Chair: C. Bonte-Friedheim

The minutes record decisions taken by the CDC on system-wide initiatives and ecoregional programs, IPR, germplasm collections, establishment of a fund-raising unit in the World Bank, the contribution of 0.1% of the subsequent years approved budget to PARC, admission of organizations to AIARC, an Integrated Voice and Data Network and center support to the CDC joint expenses account. The minutes also record discussions with the CGIAR Executive Secretary on resource allocation, a lengthy discussion within the CDC on the matrix concept, on priority setting, External Reviews including Internally Commissioned External Reviews, discussions with TAC on the West Africa study and the matrix concept including a decision to establish an on-going impact assessment unit in the CGIAR. The minutes conclude with a record of a closed meeting with the CGIAR Chair that focuses primarily on the “new CGIAR.”
