Abstract/Description

The Sixth UNICEF Nourishing South Asia Report sheds light on the state of policy commitments, system readiness, and multisectoral solutions to combat anaemia in adolescent girls and women in South Asia, highlighting critical gains and persistent gaps. It calls for five actions:

  1. Act now with serious investments across sectors like health, education, food systems, and social protection.
  2. Strengthen systems so that services are ready, resourced, and responsive to real needs.
  3. Deliver what works - proven interventions tackling all forms of anaemia, must be scaled up, especially where the needs are greatest.
  4. Use data wisely to track progress, fill knowledge gaps, and ensure no one is left behind.
  5. Tackle inequities head-on focus on girls and women living in the hardest-to-reach communities.
