AICCRA. 2022. Implementation Support Mission - Aide Memoire March 2022. Accelerating Impacts of CGIAR Climate Research for Africa (AICCRA).
Abstract/Description
From March 21-25, 2022, the World Bank and the International Center for Tropical Agriculture (CIAT) jointly undertook an Implementation Support Mission (ISM) for the Accelerating Impacts of CGIAR Climate Research for Africa (AICCRA) (P173398) in Accra, Ghana. The mission coincided with cluster and management meetings of the AICCRA project involving multiple partners from the AICCRA network (participant list included in Annex 1).
- The objectives of the ISM were to: • Review implementation progress, including progress achieved against the targets in the Results Framework, as well as progress achieved with respect to putting in place of the fiduciary, procurement, safeguards, and project management arrangements; • Conduct a deep dive into the AICCRA Ghana program, including work on technology development, technology validation, and capacity building; • Conduct a field visit to the Tuba irrigation project at the Weija Irrigation Scheme to observe onfarm technology validation and capacity strengthening activities being supported by AICCRA in Ghana; • Identify opportunities to collaborate with World Bank-supported lending operations in the region as a way of scaling up the dissemination of climate-smart agricultural technologies generated under AICCRA; and • Host a public workshop to showcase AICCRA’s ongoing work in Ghana, including gender work, climate-smart agriculture research and digital agriculture tools.
- The Aide Memoire was discussed and agreed during the wrap-up session held on March 25th . The final version of the Aide Memoire was endorsed by the Bank management.
