The project aims to set up progressive community practice at local and regional level through information sharing and exchange. This approach is in line with CTA concept of converging information tools and media to the need of rural communities. This will be achieved if communities are actively involved in defining the content. The main objective of the Simbani network is to use ICT?s to promote local content and reinforce professionals? capacities of community radios. The project is also linked to a training proposal sent to CTA training programme. The dissemination and news gathering and continuous research on alternative methods would benefit larger communities throughout Africa. Through divers dissemination means the project aims at democratizing the information access. Therefore, the whole range of mechanisms (participatory approach, dissemination and access and exchange of information) will be best factors of sustainability and impact.en
