Abstract/Description

The International Conference on Eco-Health Nexus (ICEN 2023) aimed to promote interdisciplinary dialogues and solutions surrounding cascade ecology and human well-being. Cascade ecology refers to the study of ecological interactions in connected networks of tanks, streams and wetlands that exchange water, nutrients, and organisms.

The conference explored how protecting Sri Lanka's Tank Cascade Systems (TCSs) could improve ecohealth and community resilience. With its theme "To Bridge Cascade Ecology and Human Well-Being for a Sustainable Future," the event brought together experts and practitioners across domains - from water management and climate science to agriculture, archaeology, governance and more.
