Livestock production in areas of high pressure crop-livestock farming systems in the East African highlands

Although highland environments only cover 49% of the total African continent, they are of significant importance in East Africa. This paper looks into the EAH (East African Highlands); diverse environments and similar problems; integration of livestock into farming systems; income generation; changes in use, types, species and management; key policy issues; role of gender; and constraints and sustainble solutions.
