Composition of the Consultative Council
Citation
Abstract/Description
Briefing note prepared for the April 10, 2000 meeting of the Consultative Council and circulated at the CGIAR Mid Term Meeting 2000 as background to a discussion of the Council's future role, size, and composition. The note traces the origin and functioning of the Council, and outlines some options for its future composition. These are temporary maintenance of a 31 member council, reduction to 21 members or 15 members, or dissolution of the Council. Annexes describe the allocation of membership to various constituencies for the existing council and each of the three alternatives.
