Financial Outlook for 1980 and Thereafter

CGIAR Secretariat paper on the anticipated financial requirements and contributions of the Group in 1980, and on longer term financial prospects to 1983. Based on a projection of contribution growth rates seen in 1978 and 1979, an US$ 8.5 million shortfall between the system's net requirements and contributions was expected in 1980. The financial outlook up to 1983 was examined under a number of scenarios related to a possible system expansion and growth in the work programs of existing centers.
