Abstract/Description

TAC Chairman Alex McCalla's description of the procedures followed and criteria used by TAC in assessing the ten nonassociated centers being considered for possible support by the CGIAR. McCalla prepared this paper as a progress report on the assessment process then underway, and discussed it during his TAC Chairman's report at the CGIAR Mid Term Meeting, May 1990.The paper includes annexes describing the guidelines for TAC panels appointed to assess the non associated centers, the categories used to describe their activities, their relationships with national programs, quality criteria and other matters to be considered. It also lists the members of the eight panels appointed by TAC for the subject matter analysis of the candidate centers.
