Abstract/Description

Colombia and Peru host together 23% of the Amazon. Both countries are committed to reduce their greenhouse gases emissions, improve national and local capacities to adapt to climate change, enhance local livelihoods in forests and reduce net deforestation.

With the aim of contributing to these commitments, we selected two sites to be our areas of study in the Peruvian and Colombian Amazon: Yurimaguas (Peru) and Caquetá (Colombia), where we will conduct participatory research with national partners and local communities, and implement and assess the benefits of sustainable agricultural systems.
