The topical aspects discussed include the origin and history of domestication, breeds available in various zones, their reproductive behaviour, breeding methods under use, feeds and feeding systems, diseases and parasites affecting sheep and goats, management techniques which maximize productive efficiency, and processing/marketing of goat and sheep products. Possible production potentials and prospects for increased productivity based on better understanding of goats and sheep are proposed.
