Poverty reduction, livelihoods, and jobs: CGIAR Impact Brief 2022-2024

Most people living in extreme poverty are in rural areas, where farming is often the primary livelihood. Inclusive agricultural development is two to three times more effective at reducing poverty than investments in other sectors, while also supporting food security, health and education. CGIAR works to raise incomes, reduce risk, and create jobs by improving productivity, market access, and social protection for smallholders, with a particular focus on women and youth.
