Abstract/Description
In November 2025, the Alliance of Bioversity International and CIAT signed a Memorandum of Understanding with the Office of the Presidential Adviser on Peace, Reconciliation and Unity (OPAPRU) to institutionalize climate resilience within the Philippines’ peacebuilding agenda (2023–2028). Grounded in CGIAR Climate Resilience research, the partnership embeds climate–peace evidence into national policy frameworks - operationalized through the jointly developed Climate, Peace and Security Profile for Mindanao -marking a strategic shift that reframes climate change as a core peace and security concern.
