Digitizing agricultural innovation systems through a digital agricultural network

Agricultural innovation systems rely on complex networks of producers, extensionists, researchers, service providers, and institutions. However, these networks often operate with limited digital infrastructure, resulting in fragmented data, weak feedback loops, and low visibility of knowledge exchanges and service delivery. This report presents the Digital Agricultural Network, an integrated digital approach designed to strengthen agricultural innovation systems by making actors, data, and advisory interactions visible, traceable, and interoperable. The Digital Agricultural Network is built on three core components. e-Agrology 360 provides a structured platform for collecting high-quality, field-level agronomic and socio-productive data through mobile and web applications. Digital identities and data wallets ensure that producers are recognized as data owners, enabling secure data storage, consent-based sharing, and interoperability across services. AgroTutor leverages AI and digitizes agricultural advisory services by connecting producers with extensionists and curated knowledge sources through traceable digital interactions. Together, these components create a shared digital infrastructure that supports learning, accountability, and evidence-based decision-making across the agricultural innovation ecosystem. The report also outlines the next phase of expansion, which includes digitizing additional local actors such as input suppliers, agrodealers, and rural financial institutions, further strengthening the ecosystem and increasing the functional value of digital identities and data wallets.
