Presentation made by Francois Bourguignon, World Bank Senior Vice-President and Chief Economist, at the Stakeholder Meeting during AGM2005. The presentation briefly describes the structure of science and technology in developed countries which are responsible for about 93 percent of all global expenditure in science and technology and the situation in emerging countries.
