Abstract/Description

The actual composition of crop landscapes is often inferred from secondary measurements and official statistics, which typically rely on surveys or technician based evaluations and may differ substantially from field realities. To address this information gap, this study applied very high resolution satellite imagery in the Mixteca region of Oaxaca (Mexico), integrating it with a detailed field plot inventory to calibrate a Random Forest classification model for crop type mapping.
