Abstract/Description

This presentation introduces the Secured Climate-Linked Agri-Lending Ecosystem (SCALE), an initiative developed by Dvara E-Registry and the International Food Policy Research Institute (IFPRI) to expand climate finance access for underserved smallholder farmers in India. The model combines agricultural credit, picture-based crop insurance, climate-smart agriculture (CSA) advisory services, and adoption incentives, building on the proven KhetScore risk-scoring platform and evidence from a randomized trial in Odisha that increased formal credit access, insurance uptake, farm profits, and women’s empowerment. The presentation outlines a phased implementation strategy and financing mechanism designed to mobilize commercial and philanthropic capital, with the goal of scaling climate-smart agriculture, improving resilience, expanding women’s access to formal finance, and generating environmental benefits through water savings and greenhouse gas emission reductions. -Abstract generated by Copilot AI 2.2
