Abstract/Description

In this video, Fisayo Ogah, the South-West Zonal Coordinator for the survey explains that there are so many micronutrients, but vitamin A is very essential for good vision, a healthy immune system, and cell growth.

MRDR test is a test recommended by the World Health Organisation (WHO) to assess the liver store of vitamin A status of Nigerians. This is to have a clear understanding of vitamin A status (deficient, sufficient, or excess) is needed in the liver. The respondents include children under 5 and Women of Reproductive Age (WRA).

In the long run, this will help in planning nutritional intervention and formulate policies for the country.
