Abstract/Description

This literature review provides an overview of dominant types of agricultural production and water management, processes, and practices in three selected states in Sudan (Kassala, El Gedarif, and White Nile states). The objective of this review is as such to develop site-specific assessment of current agricultural production dynamics - including how production capacities and trends have been affected by the conflict, how conflict actors have become embedded in the agri-food political economy, and where opportunities for integrating refugees and IDPs into rural economies may exist.
