CGIAR International Center Directors Meeting Minutes, Presiding Chair: N. Brady

Minutes of the International Center Directors Meeting of May 1976 record agreement on the key role played by IBPGR in overseeing the germplasm of plant species. A statement on center responsibilities vis-a-vis IBPGR is presented and adopted by the directors. Other topics discussed are, quinquennial reviews and a more substantive role for directors in the process, UN status for the centers, collaboration with US universities under US Title 12 legislation, relationship with ICIPE, a policy on patents, differential charges for overhead, host country relations and the CGIAR review. Presentations are received from IFPRI and from IFDC on their work that also make the case for collaboration with the centers.
