I was involved in the project \Optimizing livelihood and environmental benefits from crop residues n smallholders crop-livestock systems in sub-Saharan Africa and South Asia". During my internship, I have been involved in a large scale agricultural survey focused on crop residues uses. I have also developed a tool to conduct automated analysis of Normalized Diference Vegetation Index (NDVI) from diferent optical satellite instruments AVHRR, Spot Vegetation). Land Surface Phenology metrics can be computed for every season as well as vegetation anomaly maps to study agricultural landscapes. Finally, my internship has been concluded by the development of a package and the submission of scientific article. The aim of this documents is to explain and present the package ndvits. First, I will detail the specificity of the NDVI dataset and the methods used for its analysis. Then, I will comment some examples of applications of the package.Item type: Item , SLP Newsletter No. 8(Newsletter, 2011-06-24) International Livestock Research InstituteItem type: Item , SLP Newsletter No. 7(Newsletter, 2011-03-01) International Livestock Research InstituteItem type: Item , SLP Newsletter No. 4(Newsletter, 2010-12-15) International Livestock Research InstituteItem type: Item , SLP Newsletter No. 2(Newsletter, 2010-08-15) International Livestock Research InstituteItem type: Item , SLP Newsletter No. 1(Newsletter, 2010-07-15) International Livestock Research InstituteItem type: Item , SLP Newsletter No. 3(Newsletter, 2010-09-15) International Livestock Research InstituteItem type: Item , SLP Seed Grants 2(Brochure, 2010-04-13) International Livestock Research InstituteItem type: Item , SLP Seed Grants 1(Brochure, 2010-04-13) International Livestock Research InstituteItem type: Item , Feeding Livestock, Feeding the Soil: Crop residue trade-offs in crop–livestock systems - Regional case studies(Brochure, 2010-04-13) International Livestock Research InstituteItem type: Item , Livestock and Soil: Balancing soil conservation with livestock needs in West Africa(Brochure, 2010-04-13) International Livestock Research InstituteItem type: Item , Fodder, Food and Soil: Crop residue management trade-offs in the Indo-Gangetic plains(Brochure, 2010-04-13) International Livestock Research InstituteItem type: Item , Double Use for Legumes: Growing legumes to improve the soil and as an animal feed in Central America(Brochure, 2010-04-13) International Livestock Research InstituteItem type: Item , More Fodder, Better Livelihoods: The Fodder Innovation Project (Phase 2)(Brochure, 2010-04-13) International Livestock Research InstituteItem type: Item , Fattening Pigs on Sweet Potato: System analysis and modelling tools to develop improved feeding strategies for small-scale crop–livestock farmers in Southeast Asia(Brochure, 2010-04-13) International Livestock Research InstituteItem type: Item , Dealing with Drought: Reducing the vulnerability of agro-pastoral systems to climate change in East and West Africa(Brochure, 2010-04-13) International Livestock Research InstituteItem type: Item , Addressing Feed Scarcity: The Fodder Adoption Project(Brochure, 2010-04-13) International Livestock Research InstituteItem type: Item , Enhancing Livelihoods of Poor Livestock Keepers through Increasing Use of Fodder: CGIAR Systemwide Livestock Programme, Project Brochure(2004-09) International Livestock Research InstituteItem type: Item , Improving Water Productivity of Smallholder Crop- Livestock Mixed Systems (SCLIMS) in Semi-Arid Tropics: CGIAR Systemwide Livestock Programme, Concept Note for Research Grant(Report, 2004) International Water Management Institute
