Abstract/Description

This video traces the evolution of the CGIAR Climate Security team from its beginnings in 2019 as a small group exploring how climate research could support peacebuilding, to its current role as a major actor in the humanitarian–development–peace space. Today, the team spans seven regional hubs, with more than 60 scientists, analysts, and advocates working across over 20 climate and security hotspot countries. Over six years, strategic partnerships with humanitarian organizations, research institutions, governments, and local leaders have enabled CGIAR and the Alliance of Bioversity International and CIAT to integrate climate considerations into humanitarian and peacebuilding efforts.
